Message-ID: <30FD4EAD.B63@planet.net> Pascal, The 66-33-4671 is what they call the FDNY (New York Cty FD) bell codes. In the city there are 5 boro's and each boro has it's own bell code although there are 5 boros there are only 4 codes, that the FDNY uses, Manattan and the Bronx share the same code. here is a list of codes for you. 66- any box less then 2099 and any box less then 8499 the fire is in Manhattan. 66- any box greater then 2100 and any box greater then 8500 the fire will be in the Bronx. 77- the fire is in the Brooklyn section of the city 88- the fire is in the Staten Island section on the city 99- the fire is in the Queens section of the city. that is the first part of the number, the middle number (here the 33) stands for the # of alarms. if it says 66-75-2099 the fire is a single alarm fire in manhattan @ box 2099. anyting after the 10-75 (working fire in the FDNY) it goes: 22- 2nd alarm 33- 3rd alarm 44- 4th alarm. the alarms go up to 99 anything after that it is called a "boro call" (which is rarely used anymore.) and the last number of the 3 is the box number. Hope i helped you out a little bit. steve allen INTERNET= stevea@planet.net
