May 1997 Scanners hear it first By Frederick Hart VE2LSQ Continuing our series of things to monitor in the Montreal area, we'll turn toward our neighbours to the south. My good friend Jeff Levesque, N1YQA (who is as squirrelly as I am about the emergency services) has sent me an updated list of some of the frequencies from upstate Vermont. As a member of the emergency fire services in the St. Albans area he has been scanning around and since I've recently known him, I have given him some of Montreal's information (both fire and ambulance) which he picks up quite well down there. In the following frequency list 155.820 is the main dispatch/paging frequency with nightly tone tests. Depending on your location and type of antenna, most of this list should be monitorable. Thanks again to Jeff for the list and I hope that you get some interest out the listening. till the next issue 73 de Fred VE2LS and a Q. Corrctions from the April issue of the MarcOgram: Some errors occured when the column was scanned and I didn't check the final copy sent to editor too carefully.
