0Bulletin from W5YM- Next Meeting: October 1 at 7 pm, Bell 291 Satellites-- Anyone interested in working on the satellite stuff is encouraged to contact me so that we can set up a meeting to discuss what needs to be done to get fully operational. We still need to tweak the rotation system so that it goes where we want it to! Ham Radio Course-- The NWA Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring a radio course. The course is for prospective Novices and Technicians. It will be given at the Vo-Tech in Springdale and starts on Monday September 28th, at 6pm. The course runs for 9 weeks. Info: 267-3503. Survey-- 1) At the last meeting, I asked everyone to write down a list of 10 things they would like to see the Club do. Response was good, but a lot of you weren't there. So, if everyone could mail me a list of 10 things to do, we can discuss them at the next meeting. They can be "big" things: it just may take several years to do them... 2) One suggestion was for a morse code class. I asked Chuck Tillotson N5NXH (who is one of the local DXers) about teaching it and he said "sure" tentatively. We need who is interested and what dates are good. 3) CPR: I would like to find out who is interested in taking a heartsaver course thru Health Services. Cost is $10 and includes all course materials. If we get enough students (6+) they will teach it anywhere on campus. Meeting Night Moved-- Meeting night, traditionally the first Tuesday of each month (except January and Summer) has been moved to the first Thursday of each month. Hopefully this will allow for even greater participation. This will last through this school year, at least. 73 DE N5UWY AR SK
