SAREX ----- The Space Shuttle Columbia is still on orbit. Many opportunities remain to contact the orbiter as it whizzes overhead. In fact, opportunities remain to *SEE* the shuttle as it goes over! Jeanette KB5TFX and I saw it this morning at oh-dark-thirty - Fantastic! Email me for details. Antenna Party ------------- As the Secretary (Frank KB5WAR) pointed out, the work party on 10/23 was a great success. Refer to his post for the details. Thursday Night Code Practice Net -------------------------------- We had the second code practice net last night (2100 local time each Thursday evening). My thanks to Walt N5YGR and Don KB5WPM for acting as net control. Despite some technical glitches (the HeathKit *refused* to cooperate), the session went well. Many positive comments have been received from folks in the Ham community. Tune in!! Meeting ------- Our next regular meeting is on Thursday, 4 November at 1900 local in Bell 291. This month's presentation will be "Communicating via the Moon". Really. The speaker will be Mark Whatley WA5IED, an accomplished E-M-E operator. The program will be first with the business meeting to follow. Code net will run as usual at 2100 local. Lunch Meet ---------- Informal lunch meetings are held in the Servery at ~1200 local each Thursday. Join us! 73, Peter Laws N5UWY - V31WY President, Amateur Radio Club, University of Arkansas / W5YM
